Dubai Development Meeting – Nov 2014
During our visit to Dubai our CEO Mr. Gert Linde had meetings with the Senior Vice President of Chint Power China, Mr. Zhang Yin and the Director International Business of Chint Power, Mr. Yinhwa Yang. The meetings between South Africa and China proved to be well worth the effort as we successfully secured investment from Chint Power in Shanghai. Chint Power pleaded their dedicated support towards Chint Power Solutions Africa (Pty) Ltd.
The main focus of the meeting was to further develop the African market and we achieved the following;
1. higher stock levels pledged to enable us to supply to customers in South Africa with shorter lead times.
2. standard 5 year warranty on inverters. (best in the business award)
3. Local manufacturing. (local content issues addressed)
4. NRS 097 certification on all string inverters. (inverters comply with local laws and requirements)
5. Successful completion of an “DigSilent” simulation model according to the latest SA Grid Code requirements. (Inverters fully compatible with the SA Grid)
6. New Product Launch – March 2015 will see the launch of a 36kW and a 50kW string inverter for the “South African Commercial Rooftop Market” (this will greatly reduce WP cost)
7. January 2015 will see the launch of a 500kWp inverter that will be able to connect to the 400VAC connection point, without additional transformer stations needed. (this will offer an 30% cost reduction on inverters for the larger commercial rooftop projects)
8. Combiner Box with 70% local content supplied at the best price/Wp (best quality and price option in the market)
9. South African Engineers will travel to China during February 2015 for high level technical training on the inverters. This will include fault simulation training. (South African based full service back-up representation)
10. Chint Power will exhibit at the Power Africa show in 2015.
